SDESmith Design Engineering

Coverage

MEP design across the United Kingdom

SDE works on projects throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Design is delivered remotely with engineers attending site as the project requires.

COVERAGE

We work anywhere in the UK

SDE takes projects in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, from offices in Musselburgh and Newcastle. Design is delivered remotely with engineers attending site at the stages that need it, so location is not a constraint on who we work for.

What does change with location is the statutory route. England and Wales work to the Building Regulations 2010 and the Approved Documents; Scotland works to the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004, the Technical Handbooks and a building warrant that has to be granted before work starts; Northern Ireland works to the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and the Technical Booklets, through its district councils. We design to whichever applies.

Site attendance

Engineers attend site at the stages that need it — surveys, coordination workshops, witnessing and handover.
